A fun place where I share my journey as an aspiring Indie Game Developer 😊🎮👩💻
I'm having fun documenting my web development on this site, I've learnt a lot and I like how the site is coming together. BUT I've had this desire to make an indie game rolling around in the back of my head for a while now. I've put it off a couple of times because the timing wasn't right or client work took over. So I nows the time. I felt that having a second site dedicated to my indie games was a better option than filling this site with projects as I learn the ropes. So I've launched MegabitLabs.com
What type of games?
I'm interested in making some fun, quirky pixel art games in both 2D & 3D. Think retro games like The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening or the original Doom.
After a bit of experimenting I've decided to go with GameMaker Studio 2 as my game engine of choice. Its powerful and easy to use, the only downsides are I'll need to purchase a license for each platform I plan to make the games available on. But even more concerning is the apparent lack of VIM keybindings in the editor... I'll have to look into this and see if there is a work around. 🤙
Let the fun begin!
